Terms and Conditions

Dog walking

  1. All dogs being must be fully vaccinated and on a regular flea and worm control regime.
  2. The customer is responsible for any veterinary bills for their own dog and a dog it may cause injury to, no matter how they are incurred whilst in the care of 4 Paws.
  3. 4 Paws reserves the right to cancel the contract at any time and with immediate effect if the dog does not respond well to the walker/other dogs in care or shows any aggressive or dominating behaviour that is causing a problem.
  4. All dogs will be walked off lead where possible.
  5. The walker will apply personal judgement and cut a walk short if necessary due to extreme weather conditions (i.e. heat, thunder storms) for the safety of both the dog and the walker.
  6. If the walker is unable to gain access to the dog because of owner fault (key, door locked etc), payment must still be paid for that walk.
  7. A key will be cut by the customer and given to the walker or left in a safe place and returned after each walk.
  8. A walk cancelled within 24 hours’ notice will incur a 50{e5695f3b98665d3aed1b7ccfcc4c92a78009872444337b105699a85081c2322a} charge of the original walk amount.



  1. 4 Paws will not confirm any booking until registration has been carried out with the customer and the contract, with full details of customer requirements, has been signed.
  2. Deposit is to be taken on registration to secure dates for boarding and is non-refundable. The amount will be discussed and agreed prior to registration. The outstanding amount must be paid before or on the first day of boarding.
  3. The customer must provide all items necessary for dog to be adequately cared for in the customers absence (i.e. food, bedding, collar, tag, medication)
  4. If 4 Paws has to buy more food as enough hasn’t been provided, this will be paid for on return by the customer.
  5. Flea and worming treatments must be given a minimum of 2 weeks prior to boarding and the dog must be up to date with vaccinations.
  6. If a dog has to leave early due to behaviour issues (aggression/destructive/unruly) or because the customer has come back early, no refund will be given for the outstanding days.
  7. The customer must provide 4 Paws with the name and contact information of someone capable of making a decision relating to the dog in an emergency if the customer does not wish 4 Paws to. If the contact is not available 4 Paws reserves the right to consult with a veterinary surgeon and make the decision which is in the best interests of the animal if unable to get to the dog’s own vets. All vet bills will be paid for by the customer.
  8. If the dog is unable to go to the emergency contact named on the contract because of leaving early due to behavioural issues, the dog will be put in local kennels and the bill paid by the customer.
  9. Vaccination card must be sent with the dog for boarding in case the dog has to go in to kennels.
  10. The customer is responsible for any veterinary bills, no matter how they are incurred whilst their dog is in the care of 4 Paws.
  11. 4 Paws must be alerted to any behavioural problems with their dog at the time of booking. Failure to do so may result in additional charges or cancellation of any future booking.
  12. Although 4 Paws holds public liability insurance, wherever possible the dog should be insured by the customer.
  13. 4 Paws will look after your dog as you would and whilst we will make every effort to ensure your pet is well cared for in your absence, we cannot be held liable for any loss, injury or death to the dog either inside or outside of the home whilst in our care.


Puppy/dog/cat check in

  1. The customer must provide all items necessary for their pet to be adequately cared for including any food you may want 4 Paws to give.
  2. A key must be provided to 4 Paws by the customer or a key be left in a safe place as agreed with both the customer and 4 Paws


Pet feeding

  1. The customer must provide all items necessary for their pet to be adequately fed.
  2. 4 Paws will take steps to ensure the customers home is safe and secure in the customers absence however 4 Paws cannot be held responsible for any damage or accidents caused by their pets.


Pet Taxi

  1. All bookings are subject to a 50{e5695f3b98665d3aed1b7ccfcc4c92a78009872444337b105699a85081c2322a} non-refundable deposit payable in advance.
  2. Clients must notify the veterinary surgeon that 4 Paws will be attending the appointment on their behalf and ensure that arrangements for payment have been made with either 4 Paws or the vet direct.
  3. Any owner wishing to accompany 4 Paws whilst an animal is being transported accepts that they do so at their own risk and that 4 Paws does not accept liability for any injury or delay incurred during transportation.


Home check in

  1. Customers must provide 4 Paws with all security details for the house and give an information list which will be pre-read and agreed by both parties.
  2. An emergency contact will be given to 4 Paws by the customer.
  3. No pets will be staying at the house whilst the customer is away unless discussed with and agreed by 4 Paws.
  4. Deposit will be paid on booking and the outstanding balance paid in full by the customers departure date.


Key Holding

  1. A key will be given by the customer which will be held in the care of 4 Paws.
  2. 4 Paws will endeavour to respond to the call out where possible and if able to.
  3. A charge will occur if 4 Paws visit the address.
  4. There can be more than one property per customer and a separate charge will be given for each address.
  5. Payment must be made once call out has been completed.
